Laggan locks, a flight of two locks, connects the Laggan Avenue with Ceann Loch to lead into Loch Lochy. There are pontoons, toilet & shower facilities (British Waterways), drinking water and also pump out facilities available for hire cruisers.
At Loch Lochy's north-eastern end, the canal passes the site of a clan battle: the Macdonalds, MacDonnells and Camerons against the Frasers and a small number of Grants. This Battle is known as the Battle of the Shirts -Battle of Blar na Léine - and took place in the summer of 1544.
